Imagine arriving at the house after a long drive that brought you to
this Island. You step out of the car and, as you draw a deep breath,
you can smell the landscape as you see it before you: The freshly cut
hayfields to the south, the small maple grove behind the house, the
rolling hills, covered with pasture and forest. This will be your
personal space for the week(s) to come. As the sun sets, you start to
see the brilliant, unpolluted night sky and in the distance the lights
of the coast of Nova Scotia.
The days you will spend here will be the stuff of vacation memories.
The rising sun will tickle you as you prepare your morning coffee. As
you read your summer novel on one of the lawn chairs in the garden,
you can hear and watch the songbirds all around you, and when you
retire for the night, you open your window letting the night breeze
bring you relaxing sleep.
In the fall you can take long strolls along the many miles of trails
in the brightly colored forest. In the winter you watch the bald eagle
draw its long circles in the sky. Spring brings heavy blooms on the
crab apples that line the driveway to the house.
These are but a few experiences on Percy Hill. What will be yours?
Testimonial:
I waken today in a beautiful house in isolation on Prince Edward
Island. Sun pours in from every possible window, flooding the house
with the intense brightness of the snowy fields that surround me. My
room has windows to the east, south, and west. The largest of these is
the triple to the south, offering unobstructed views as far as the
shores of Nova Scotia.
